Get ready for an exciting update on the highly anticipated Disney Lakeshore Lodge! The A-frame cabins are taking shape, and the entrance is getting a grand makeover.
Nestled alongside Fort Wilderness Resort on the shores of Bay Lake, Disney Lakeshore Lodge is a Disney Vacation Club resort that aims to capture the essence of nature's beauty. With an estimated opening in 2027, this resort is already making waves and capturing the attention of Disney enthusiasts.
A-Frame Cabins: The Details Unveiled
The A-frame cabins, strategically positioned on either side of the main resort, are undergoing some serious transformations. Over the past few weeks, construction crews have been hard at work, adding intricate wooden details and structural supports to these cabins. It's estimated that there will be at least 20 of these charming cabins spread across the resort, offering guests a unique and cozy accommodation option.
While the cabins closest to the main building are taking center stage, with crews focusing their efforts there, many other cabins, including those near Clementine Beach, are still in the framing stage. A combination of wood and steel gives these cabins a sturdy and rustic look.
Resort Progress: A Snapshot
Most of the resort's buildings are now covered in at least one layer of sheathing, with some areas being prepped for concrete. The roof work and overhangs are coming along nicely, adding to the overall aesthetic of the large resort complex.
The visible balconies now have doors installed, and most windows are in place, giving the resort a more complete look. Even the upper areas of buildings and balconies that were lagging behind are now catching up, with crew members working diligently to bring them up to speed.
Entrance Makeover: A Grand Welcome
The entrance porte cochere, which we previously reported on, has seen significant progress. The silver framing now extends from the iconic red steel, creating an extended covered area that will provide a grand welcome to guests. This unique design element, as seen in the concept art, is truly coming to life, offering a seamless and convenient experience for guests checking in and out.
A Sneak Peek from Fort Wilderness
Portions of the resort are visible from Fort Wilderness, offering a glimpse of the progress. The most complete section of the resort can be seen from the arcade/Pioneer Hall area of Fort Wilderness, with Lakeshore Lodge proudly standing behind it. It's a sight to behold, and it gives us a taste of the magical experience awaiting guests.
And Here's the Controversial Part...
With the updated front and backside of the resort's main entrance, it seems that this area has become a primary focus for the construction team. Some might argue that this emphasis on the entrance could impact the overall flow and design of the resort. What do you think? Should the entrance be a grand statement, or should the focus be distributed more evenly throughout the resort? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
