Yamaha's MotoGP testing has been suspended due to safety concerns surrounding its new V4-powered M1. The issue arose from an engine problem experienced by Fabio Quartararo, which was unrelated to the crash that ended his participation on the first day of the Sepang test. This problem was later diagnosed as a technical issue related to the V4 engine, echoing similar issues encountered during a previous shakedown test. Team boss Maio Meregalli explained that the engineers want to understand the root cause before restarting testing, emphasizing the priority of safety. The team is keen to find a resolution, as the delay may impact their progress, despite having already completed three days of testing at the Sepang circuit. This comes amidst complaints from Yamaha's riders that the V4 engine still falls short of its intended performance, with Alex Rins revealing that a new and improved spec is unlikely to arrive before the first race in Thailand. The team is awaiting further developments, with the hope of resolving the issue soon to ensure a competitive performance.
